Words from Moira

I would like to encourage people to read the gospel reading (John's gospel, chapter 14, verses 1-14)

This is a moment when the risen Jesus calls Peter back into ministry and shows that Peter's forgiven for denying that he knew Jesus. It also echoes how Jesus first called Peter to be his disciple three years before. Jesus calls each one of us to follow him. There will be moments when we mess up. moments we wish we could change, moments when we wonder why God ever called us, moments when we think our relationship with God is over. In those darkest times, God comes to us and is beside us (even when we can't recognise God) and guides us: We are never forgotten. We are loved, and God offers us restoration.

The order of service for Sunday is printed below:

Welcome

Volunteer: Alleluia, Jesus is risen!

All: He is risen indeed. Alleluia!

Hymn

Be thou my vision, O Lord of my heart;
Naught be all else to me, save that thou art
Thou my best thought, by day or by night;
Waking or sleeping, thy presence my light.

Be thou my wisdom, and thou my true word;
I ever with thee and thou with me, Lord.
Thou my great Father; thine own may I be,
Thou in me dwelling and I one with thee.

Riches I heed not, nor man’s, empty praise;
Thou mine inheritance, now and always;
Thou and thou only first in my heart,
High King of heaven, my treasure thou art.

High King of heaven, my victory won,
May I reach heaven's joys, O bright heaven's sun!
Heart of my own heart, whatever befall,
Still be my vision, O Ruler of all.
