Hazelwell Weekly Contact 6th September 2020
(Socially Distanced ducks Kings Norton)
Prayers are requested for:-
Moira and the family
All those who have started back to school or work this week
The residents of Cornhill Grove and Hazelwell Fordrough
Members of our congregation who are sick, currently undergoing or waiting for treatment.
We will meet for morning service this week in church (and continue to transmit the service via Zoom)
Those who plan to attend this and future services will be asked to ring Janet (0121 444 1663) on Wednesday evening between7.00pm-9.30pm or Thursday morning 10.00am-12.30pm or email Mary on Thursday (email@example.com) to discuss numbers and book their place. We may find it necessary to ask folk to attend on alternate weeks if numbers wishing to attend make it necessary.
All who do not have access to Zoom Services will be given priority. They will be rung on Monday prior to the service to check whether they plan to attend so that we are able to ensure we offer an appropriate number of places to others.
The service will start as normal at 10.00 o’clock but is likely to be a little shorter than normal.
A number of the JCC attended church on Sunday for a “test service” to check that the plans we have in place are workable.
We adjusted the use of microphones and computer cameras in response to points which arose.
We also realised that it is quite reasonable for those who wish to stay behind for a chat after the service to do so if they remain in their seats (which are already socially distanced).
Keeping the rear church doors open for ventilation led to excessive traffic noise so we shall move screens into place in front of the door at the start of the service to act as a baffle
We shall have a one-way system in operation (except for those who need to enter via the Hub for reasons of accessibility) entering church via the back door and using the left hand aisle to approach the front of church and the aisle nearest the hub to walk towards the back. Exit will be via the Hub.
Masks must be worn by all except the person leading the service or reading. Washable masks are available to keep if you have forgotten to bring one.
We have no date as yet when Moira might be returning from sick leave.
Join us on Zoom this Sunday at 10 am (transmitted from church)

Thoughts for the week
Cultivate an attitude of happiness. Cultivate a spirit of optimism. Walk with faith, rejoicing in the beauties of nature, in the goodness of those you love, in the testimony which you carry in your heart concerning things divine.”
― Gordon B. Hinckley
“Do not waste time bothering whether you ‘love’ your neighbor; act as if you did. As soon as we do this we find one of the great secrets. When you are behaving as if you loved someone, you will presently come to love him.”
― C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity
