      • Reflection on Hebrews12 vs 1-3

"Therefore, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us also lay aside every weight, and sin which clings so closely, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking to Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Consider him who endured from sinners such hostility against himself, so that you may not grow weary or fainthearted."

Life can feel like a never-ending race—full of twists, fatigue, and unexpected hurdles. Hebrews 12:1–3 reminds us that we’re not running alone. There’s a cloud of faithful witnesses cheering us on, and most importantly, there is Jesus—our perfect example and source of strength.

When we fix our eyes on Jesus, we shift our focus from the weight of our struggles to the hope of His victory. He endured the cross not because it was easy, but because He saw the joy on the other side—our redemption, restored relationship, and eternal life.

As we run our own race, we’re invited to lay down anything that drags us away from God's path—whether it's sin, fear, or distractions—and move forward with endurance. Remember: Jesus not only ran before us, He now runs with us.
