Reflection on the story of Lydia (Acts 16 11-15)

Lydia had a faith, she was a God fearing woman. But when she heard the good news that Paul spoke about Jesus, about new life in him, Lydia was touched. She wasn’t satisfied with how things were, she wanted to follow a new story, a new direction, a new calling. She said “yes” to Jesus, to all Paul said about him and the new life that was available through him. She opened her heart to the message, and then she opened her home to the messengers. The status quo was overturned—a new story tugged her in new directions? What way is the story of Jesus tugging you this week?
