from former Archbishop of York John Sentamu Chair of Christian Aid
| “On behalf of the charity, its supporters and churches, I offer our prayers for Queen Elizabeth and the whole Royal Family at this difficult time. “She dedicated her life to the United Kingdom and the Commonwealth. We will always be grateful for her truly remarkable service. “She leaves behind a powerful legacy, not least in championing friendship between people of all faiths and none and the diverse peoples of the world. She always promoted development of the person, communities, structures and social wellbeing. “For those who share a Christian faith, her own deep faith has been an inspiration - demonstrated throughout her life in her words and actions. “During this sad time for millions, we should never forget that at the centre of national and international mourning, there is a family grieving for their much-loved mother, grandmother and great grandmother.” |
| We invite you to pray with us in memory and thanksgiving of The Queen’s life and service, and we have a special prayer in memory of Queen Elizabeth. Please feel free to share our prayer with others in your church or community for private reflection, or in church services.May she rest in peace and rise in glory. |
